Entertainment
Although the most popular sporting event in Indianapolis is the Indy 500, there are many other athletic draws as well. Indianapolis is host to several other professional sports teams including the NBA Pacers, the WNBA Fever and the NFL Colts.
Of course, Indianapolis is also entertaining in many arenas having nothing to do with sports. Take, for example, White River State Park, Indianapolis Zoo, Downtown Canal and Arts District or Lockerbie Square. Lockerbie Square is the oldest surviving domestic region in Indianapolis. The district dates back to the 1840s and is one of the best places in the world to explore beautiful Victorian homes and magnificent restorations. Just a handful of blocks from downtown Indianapolis, Lockerbie Square is definitely worth a visit. Also worth a peek is Broad Ripple Village. Just north of downtown, this area of town is host to an impressive collection of shops, unique galleries and restaurants.
